KINGHAT CRAB PATE

This crab pate is a recipe I got from a Portuguese friend of mine Jose Antonio Alho. An ideal appetizer. Simple to prepare using crab sticks. It is light and pleasant and sharpens your taste for the following meal.

Ingredients

200g of crab sticks
1 boiled egg
3 garlic cloves
2 tablespoon of ketchup
5-6 tablespoon of mayonnaise
½ a lemon juice ( optional )
Couple of drops of Tabasco (optional)

Method

Bake the egg in a saucepan with water. When the egg is cooked, remove the peel and set aside.

Cut the crab sticks and the boiled egg into pieces

In a food processor, place the crab sticks, the egg and peeled garlic. Pulse until a paste is formed.

Place the mixture in a bowl, add the mayonnaise, ketchup and tabasco. Mix thoroughly with a spoon then add the lemon juice and mix again till soften.

Serve with toasted brioche or peppercorn crackers. Store the pate in the fridge.
