You can get parboiled crab from your local fishmonger and prepared butter and parsley baby potatoes from your supermarket. If not I’ll explain how to prepare both.

Preparing the crab

Place the crab in boiling water. Keep the rubber band on the claws. Lower the crab upside down head first and boil for 5-10 min until red in colour. Remove from pot and cool in iced water. Then cut out the rubber band from the claws. Break crab claws and legs apart from the body. Using a big kitchen knife split the body into 2 section, but do not remove the meat from the shell.

Discard the small stomach sac situated just behind the crab’s mouth. Pull away the soft gills which are attached along the edges of the centre part and discard.

Preparing the prawns

Using a pair of sharp kitchen scissors, cut the prawns shell along the middle of the back, from nick to tail. Make a slight incision with a sharp knife, taking care not to cut deep from nick to the tail. Rinse and remove intestinal track.

Preparing the baby potatoes

Boil the potatoes in a pot for 20 min and drain in a colander. In the same pot, on medium heat melt in 3 tablespoon of butter. Add the potatoes, 1 tablespoon of chopped parsley, and a pinch of salt. Cook the potatoes for 5 min until the potatoes are heated through and begins to brown.
